PRINTING QUESTIONS
Digital file requirements
We use a very carefully
calibrated and profiled system and the very latest giclee production
equipment, meaning we very rarely have a color or quality issue, but below
are few things that could cause color differences or print quality issues
with your image.
About Color & Print Quality - We want to make sure you love the prints you
get from us!
We do not modify or adjust
customer files other then cropping & sizing. We print
your files as is.
Print quality of the finished print you get from us can only be as good as the
digital file you give us to work with, so we cannot be responsible for color or
print quality such as out of focus, poor resolution, low dpi, content, wrong
color mode, etc.
We use a very carefully calibrated
and profiled system..
But you are solely responsible for image
quality & color and should make any color adjustments BEFORE
uploading your file. It is NOT always possible to get 100% accuracy!
Since monitors have different color levels, we cannot guarantee that your print will look
exactly the same as it does on your monitor.
Print Brightness:
We print files
as they actually are. We do not brighten or lighten any files. Sometimes a customer's monitor will display a file
lighter/brighter or darker then it actually is. We cannot guarantee that your print will
look exactly the same as it does on your monitor.
File Types:
For best results your digital file
should be either PSD(Photoshop) or
.TIFF
or .JPEG. These are the
most common files types. We can use other types, but they may delay
your order.
File Size:
200 - 300 DPI is best with a image size close to the print size you are
ordering, but generally no less the 100 dpi. If you have a large image
size, a small DPI is fine. If you have a high DPI, then a smaller image size is
fine. If both are too small for the size print you order, your print may be
pixilated and grainy. Look at your file at 100% of the print size you are
ordering. The print we send you is only as good as the file you send us!
If we see that your file is too small, we'll let you know, but we cannot always
tell before printing. Art is subjective, so we cannot be responsible for
quality due to customer image or file choice, such as poor resolution or low
dpi. Always send the best file you have!
Color Space/mode:
Your files should be RGB
Color Space
for the best color match.
RGB is the standard for most digital files and digital files are normally RGB
unless someone has changed them on purpose.
Cropping:
Most files we get for
stretched canvas prints require some cropping. Try to order your prints in
the same proportions as your file to limit cropping. If your file requires
cropping to fit the size print you order, we will use our best judgment as
to what to crop out and are not responsible for overly cropped
images. We generally crop evenly from all sides. If cropping is a concern,
you should crop your file first yourself or tell us what you do not want
cropped out. We will do our best to honor your request.
On paper prints we generally don't crop if the file proportions and
size ordered are similar. This means that your prints may not be the exact
size you order.
Sizing:
You do not have to make
your file the exact same size of the print you are ordering. It will be
automatically enlarged, reduced & cropped.
We do not guarantee exact sizes. All finished print sizes may be
approximate and may be a little smaller or larger then you order. We
recommend that you NOT make frames, cut mats, stretcher bars, etc., until you
have the actual print in hand.

If I want a
border do I need to add it to my image?
NO!! DO NOT
add a border unless you consider that part of your image area. Let us add the border.
If you add the border to your file it becomes image area which may cause
your image to print smaller than you want.
We will automatically add a border to your file when we print if you
request one.
Do you use
aftermarket or off brand inks like some other companies?
NO! We only use the original printer
manufacturer inks for true color & archival life.

What Is Gallery Wrapping?
Gallery Wrapping is
when the image/photo wraps around the edges. With gallery wrapping,
framing is not necessary.
Most people simply hang their canvas as is, but of course you can always
still have it framed if you choose!
Can you
print my gallery wrapped edges in a solid color?
Yes, any solid color you want. Black is the most
popular!
If you have a color in the image that you would like on the edges, we can
do that. We'll match it as close a possible.
Is there an extra charge
for borders?
NO! On un-stretched
canvas we leave approx. 2 inches and on paper we leave approx. 1 inch.
Is your printing done off shore
like some others?

our US giclee studio! MADE IN AMERICA!

Can I paint or embellish by canvas prints?
We have many regular customers that
over-paint, embellish or put a texturing glaze on our canvas prints. Many
customers tell us they use either oil or acrylic paint.
We've never been told of any problems, but you should always do a test print
first. All seem to order their canvas coated, so
it IS RECOMMENDED that you have us coat the canvas first. Uncoated
canvas can be damaged easily!!

Is your online order form
secure?
Yes,
all
transactions on our Web server are encrypted using S. S. L. to provide you
with optimal security and peace of mind. We do not make it available
on the Internet; to us, to you, or anyone else. The only information about
you that is stored on our servers is: which items you currently have in
your shopping cart, your preferred shipping method, and which state you
are in for sales tax purposes. We keep track of you using a cookie file
stored in your computer's memory temporarily. This file is deleted from
your computer's memory when you close your Internet browser. Unlike many
Internet companies who store your name, address, and financial information
on the Web server, as stated before, we do not. This protects you from
crackers (hackers) breaking into our server and stealing important
personal information about you. This also makes it necessary for you to
re-enter your credit card information, name and shipping information every time you
place an order with us. We understand that many appreciate the convenience
of having their information stored, but our company feels it is not worth
the risk of having your personal information compromised.

Will you print nude
paintings or photography?
Yes, since many artists include nudes in their
art, we will print nude, glamour type art.
Also unlike some other companies out there, we do not share your files
with anyone and we never post them online. You can trust us with
nude images.

Are my files safe with you?
Yes! We never share your files with
anyone! Your files never leave our studio.
